Sacramento International Airport.
7 AM.
There's a gorgeous sunrise outside. You know how airports have those floor to ceiling windows that look out over the runway. Well right outside my window is an airplane boarding for Seattle and behind it the sky has been gradually getting brighter and brighter, starting with a soft lavender (the kind you would spot in a grandmother's home) then pink, pink, orange, and now tangerine. I love it. It's the first time I've seen a sunrise in a long time. I'm never up this early if I can help it.
While sitting here waiting for my plane to board I hear this kid yell, "Look Mom! An airplane!" I turn to see him pointing out the window at the jet being loaded. Then he points back towards security and yells, "Oh look! Another one!" Man, I wish I still had that enthusiasm towards traveling and flying.
It's been a wonderful Thanksgiving. I really loved seeing everybody!
I'm going to miss Becky. It's hard imagining her grown up, serving a mission BUT I just remember that God is with her and will always protect her and in the mean time teach her. What a bargain! I can't wait to hear about her adventures in El Salvador. What a lucky gal!
The sky is now dusty rose and fading into blue. The kid is gone and the excitement is over. Let's get back to work.

for some reason I have also experienced some of the most beautiful sunrises in airports. go figure.
I will miss Becky and I'm excited for her. I miss you--don't tell Leslie, but not coming to CA for T-giving was a dumb choice. oh well. let's kick it together soon.

I saw a beautiful sunset in Denver. It was one of those that doesn't really have any color but just has a lot of bright and dark streaked together with really crisp clouds of all shapes and sizes.
It was weird seeing Becky heading off to such a grand, independent adventure. She will delight the people in El Salvador.
It was great being together as a family over Thanksgiving. I got the slides done at 1:45 AM the night before heading home (ended up saving Stockton for next time).
Have a good end of term!! Go get 'em tiger!
