Earth, Earth, Earth

Unable to resist the urge
I dip my pen into the snow
Disrupting the peaceful, clean blanket
That covers the Earth, Earth, Earth

Not knowing when enough is enough
I plunge it in deeper
Until my fist itself is going in
Head first, first, first

A smooth surface with a jagged scar
What's done is done
I can't take it back
I've always been cursed, cursed, cursed

But the Earth first was cursed
Cursed from its birth to slowly become worse
As we scab it with our pens and fists
And pound on it with an empty purse, purse, purse

After satisfying the urge
I lift my pen out of the dirt
Out of the dirt that belongs to the Earth
The wounded Earth, Earth, Earth
